Thermoforming
Thermoforming can produce clamshells, blisters, and tray / cover sets of packaging. All of these various types are designed to provide a clean presentation of your product to the consumer at the final point of sale. The product must arrive to the store in good condition and ready for the peg hook. The packaging you select must be easy to load within your facility and hold up to shipping abuse.
Clamshells
This tri-fold clamshell used for retaining ring pliers, allows the customer to touch and feel the quality of the tool, by exposing the gripped handles. The side cut outs enable the customer to position the levers as needed to convert this tool from internal to external retaining ring pliers. This unique feature is easily communicated to the consumer through the interactive ability of the package.
Blisters
Blister packaging can hold either very lightweight product as is shown on the Carabineer and lip balm, or much heavier product that needs to provide safety from sharp edges in the store. On the lip balm package, the card provides a large area for additional sell copy, and the blister is only sized to be just larger than the product. On the Chisel, the sharp edge of the tool is protected from exposure in the store, preventing a safety issue. The blister on the Chisel covers the entire card as it is needed for additional strength.
Trays and Covers
The vacuum formed tray and cover set is designed to hold heavy pry bars. The base is formed from .050 black styrene with rubber additive to provide some flexibility and resist cracking, and the cover is formed from .030 clear PVC. The undercuts in the corners, along with several snap buttons on the tray and cover, provide a strong package to display the product without the need from stapling. The insert card is die-cut around the handles and bar tips, to allow the consumer a clear view of the product.
